Hehe, basically this wk was a very tiring week
coz every day, the time i leave sch is about near 7pm...
made it almost too tiring to do anythg at home..
and why so?
coz of the chinese new year decorations that had to be done by each class as part of the chinese new year competition in the school...
since i am the type who has a hard time letting go..
i stayed back after school to supervise and help out with the decorations...
to tell you the truth...
despite the staying back and for many days..
it was reallly worrying coz the kids have absolutely no idea on what to do and kids being kids..
they lack planning and prioritisation...
so in the end..judging was on thursday...
and i can tell you the work in beautifying was till the last min..
it was really giri giri
the kids...during the days tt we were doing..
their morale was low..
as they see other classes' works were very nice and beautiful..
i had to admit tt theirs was really wonderful and great...
very lavish and full of decoration...
but i pushed my kids further saying tt we shld follow the requirements which were to use recycled materials and try not to spend a lot of money since money would have to be churned by them(actually, in the end, it was me who sponsored the materials..orz)
so throughout the days, despite the low morale, they continued doing
and keep comparing how our class looks very plain as compared to the sea of red that can be seen in other classes...
but on thursday..
i dunno...smthg jus happened to the class...
all i did was bring handmade flowers tt i made the previous night (super tired out by tt)
and suddenly they were asking if i could give them the period to finish up...
and u can see the whole class getting to work..
some cutting paper fishes...some hanging up stuff...
and some kids even asked me to teach them how to do the flowers so tt they could make more...
it was suddenly somehow their spirit to finish up came in....
i would have to say..the end result was super cute..
it was not as red as the other classes...
and yet, it has a sweet homely feeling to it..
yeap...this is one of the bottles with my flowers..basically i suggested to them to stick the bottles on the wall, fill it up with mags and crepe paper to create soil and then use the bottles as flower pots to put in the flowers...the pink flowers were the kids' creation after learning from me on tt day...
a lot of craftmaking and drawings involved...a lot of creativity...we placed our names on dead bamboo leaves and stuck them on the board...the motto...they came up with it themselves...wat they did was take words from each person...den they strung them together to become a phrase...
i love the way the kids used the paper fishes to make a trail outside the class....gg into LJS (long john silver) haha! and going to the sign "C U Again"...super cute! sad tt the LJS went missing after the competition..sigh..
In the end, i would say, the class...their tension was really up! and the way they worked hard for it...
i really am proud of them...
they reminded of my own sec3 class
i still rem how my class were full of low morale ppl since we knew we were the rejects of the school..
but the decoration was really smthg tt bonded us together and made us start off in a good way...
so in the end...
did we win??
well
