It only seemed yesterday when I first started teaching and these kids were my first batch..
and now they have graduated..
it feels nostalgic...
it's somewhat heartening to see how much they have grown..
in terms of height and also maturity..
when i first taught them..they were so tiny..
now..they are all taller than me..lols!
all in all, not able to shake off the biasness...
they are indeed my best babies and i will never forget them ever!
but i guess they have a long way to go?
coz one of my students had to do a forfeit where he had to do slow dance with a girl who's his classmate and he got all shy..
the MC had to make him kneel down on one knee and kiss the girl's hand instead...so cute~
was looking thru the message boards done up by each class and I saw this message which made me lols..yeah, i am tt kind of teacher..not too big on homeworks..to me, as long as they understand the concept, i am ok..
but this year, the classes really put in effort in doing up nice boards...
it's like woah!
hopefully, when they come back next year, they will receive great results~
Ok, part 2 of AFA-X wknd..
the focus is on the concerts..
think I mentioned before..
Went to AKB48's mini-concert and also ANISONG Day 2 concert..
No prizes for guessing which one I enjoyed more..
AKB48
well, as a concert, I do enjoy it...only because I made an effort to listen to their songs..
some may cringe at this..
but in a way, I would akin AKB48 to KT-TUN..
you enjoy the songs as songs..but not the people at all..
sat at the back and in a way, felt safe..
and what made my day(or night) was that surrounding us were Japanese delegates for the forum that was held earlier in the day...
Guess they were given free tickets for this concert...
For me, it's like happy land coz many of the delegates were young, handsome and very smiley..
aiyoh...they just made me grin from ear to ear
the wotas were indeed hardcore..
before the concert..while waiting outside for the door to open, the wotas were practising their chants and all..
and they were kyaa-ing(in lower, much lower voices) over AKB48..
it was so funny how amused I was and can't really criticise them..
coz definitely if Arashi was the one, we fangirls will also be doing the same..
in a way, I am heartened to see kyaa-ing and high tension for a J-pop group and not K-pop group...
especially in this country where K-pop is everywhere
overall, in summary..
do I enjoy this concert?
well, yeah as a concert..
is it memorable?
hmmm, not really? the only think I seem to remember from that concert is the wotas, the cute Japanese fangirls and the Japanese delegates..lols..
ANISONG Day 2
THIS was what i was waiting for...
very good seats, very good line-up, very good crowd...
what else can I ask for??!
Sat in the centre, 3rd row and it was a freaking awesome feel...
rather near to the stage and def am able to see everything..
me being short...having near seats are important esp since otakus in Singapore are really tall!
am surrounded by otakus and really it was just spine-chilling, bone-tingling feel in the positve manner
Concert started with Angela performing..
GAWD! I am a new fan of them!
Like Atsuko-chan is freaking good! Every single song she sang, it's just chills to the bones..
I've never felt that soo much for any groups apart from my favourite groups
When she sang Shangrila..it was like OMG! the atmosphere of the hall just went up many notches...
and I got totally sucked into it!
Otakus are like freaking awesome with their penlights and tension...
definitely same level with Arashi fangirls in concert
we were really just singing along and just waving our penlights accordingly..
we were singing soo in unison and with gusto that Angela were so touched and awed and surprised by the reception from Singaporean fans.
When they sang Shangrila again as encore, Atsuko-chan was actually crying towards the end seeing how tension up we were.
Katsu was also high tension to the point that during their performances, he jumped off stage to run up to the front row people to shake hands...
He was indeed an otaku himself coz he was teaching and sharing with the audience the otaku phrases and habits..lols! he may look like a rocker but indeed he's an otaku at heart. MOESU!
And then, it was set-up time for Scandal..
GAWD! the waiting was torturous but the crew were cute!
watching eye candies working each single instrument and testing each mike..it's like energy-booster..lols!
When FINALLY Scandal came on, everyone was back to tension up...
not surprising since about 50% of the crowd are here for Scandal..moi included...
And boy was the wait WORTH it!
It's like a rollercoaster tension-up, heart-pumping,adrenaline-racing 60min jamming session!
All in all, they sang 12 songs with a short MC...
Song after song, we all went crazy singing, jumping dancing waving penlights and truly just cheering our lungs out!
the otakus really went nuts and again, this time, I'm already tension up and with all around me also pumping testosterone, I got sucked in even further!
It's blatantly clear that the girls were also absorbing the freaking high tension and they were really playing hard..to the point that Haruna went off-pitch a couple of times for being soo high tension..lols!
My point of view was mainly Tomomi, Haruna and Rina..Mami was a bit out of focus...
While Mami is my favourite, that night, the other 3 were really pumping it up and to be honest, watching Haruna and Rina really makes me lose it esp with their high tension!
Overall, I would say Scandal's session was really a workout..almost same level as Arashi con...
They did not get to do encore coz they went over their time but definitely, they left me satisfied, overwhelmed, tired and sweaty!
May'n...well..indeed she is the fairy queen!
She is very talented and very cool in her performance..
Coz I was tired and kinda unfamiliar with her songs...
I was quieter but definitely in awe of her coolness...
Could see why she was deemed as the fairy queen...
She was really entertaining the crowd and her vocals are superb!
You could see the otakus still going on very active and they were like giving her adulations and tributes
All in all, I would say ANISONG wins hands down and definitely one of the best concerts I've been to for a while now...
but oh well, haha
AFA-X wknd last week was interesting..
Tho I am kind of disappointed in terms of the variation of activities and focus...
I didn't really bother to take a lot of pictures coz the booths were mainly selling figurines and all..at freaking high prices..
But there was this booth where the dolls are soo pretty~ i wish I can have one..but I know I can't carry one..a bit too scary at night...
these two are my favourites..guess what, their owners are guys..straight otaku guys..
Visited the Not For Sale booth..
kinda of a bummer that there are no more reading slots available..
BUT THEN!
I saw my friend working as one of the translators
OMG
like I haven't seen her since college days..and she's working as one of the translators for these hot fortunetellers??!!!
Coz of her, I got to shake hands with one of the hot guys..his hands were sooo soft and warm..
Many have never really seen me very shy...but that day, I was really really shy..
was speechless and just smiling away~
After that, she sent me pics of another guy whom I commented being cute..
he's 30+..can you imagine?!
They are coming down again next year in January..
ehem ehem..
The Gang...want to go? lols!
Anyway, there's so many photographers this yr that it gets kinda irritating to take photos..
This year's cosplayers were good in terms of quality and also in terms of variation...
finally less of naruto and bleach..thank god!
wonder next year how it will be like?
While just casually looking thru all the wota blogs,
i came across a comment which i felt was unjustified and untrue about Arashi..
you see, they were quite unhappy coz of the late announcement on which AKB48 members who were coming to town and when it was revealed that most of the ones coming are not the top members, many wanted to sell their tickets.
So this wota made a comment to justify why some sold their tickets after finding out.
He said that they felt cheated coz their favourite member is not appearing and hence there should not be a reason why they should be there...
I know he said to defend those who are coming into Singapore to watch them...
But then! the comment came..
"To explain it from another perspective, imagine if 2 members of Arashi were coming but you don’t know who. Arashi tickets easily go for up to $2000 dollars but in this case lets say you purchase one for a fraction of that price. Matsumoto Jun, Ohno Satoshi and Ninomiya Kazunari do not come."
Dude..seriously..it's a wrong group to compare with..
unlike your dearies..for us, once an Arashi fan, always be an Arashi fan.
Yes, we have our fav..but ultimately, we love the WHOLE package.
If Nino were to come to Singapore for some event...to represent the group or something, I would still go. You can bet my money on that!!
The whole ranting thg just shows one thing. I am glad to be in the fandom where people are generally unified to support all members despite having favourites!
Ok, it's actually not that extreme, I do know some girls who love them..
But I'm going to AKB48's min-concert tonight...
Their tops are not in Singapore but I think 9 out of the top 24 are here
As I said before, going to the concert is more of curiousity
Been stalking the wotageis in Singapore and their response to this piece of news and it's amusing...
I have to say, for a group of guys, their modus operandi is more organised than the korean fangirls..
There's even a guide on the chants to shout for the different songs..
so yeah, will see how it goes...
knowing me, i will get sucked into the high tension atmosphere in no time..lols!
